Gentle Kind of Poverty

In the mid nineties, a Burmese woman returns home for a visit after living abroad for 14 years. She manages to reconnect with the past despite the challenges of adapting to the changes for which she is unprepared. Once she goes back to her job in England, she is torn between the independent life she has adopted and the yearning for her cultural roots which has been reawakened. A hard decision is made after the man who is closest to her dies, and she goes back to Burma to start a new life in her own country.
